This award is for the “Most Innovative Digital Health Product in Rheumatism and Osteoarthritis.” In this interview with Faro de Vigo, we spoke with José Luis de la Torre, its creator and current CEO of Quantic Nanotech. José Luis went from patient to inventor.
Faro de Vigo: First of all, I’d like to congratulate you on the award. It’s the latest in a long list of recognitions that support the need for such technology. How and why did you decide to develop it?
José Luis de la Torre: I was 40 years old when I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis, and my doctor recommended paraffin baths, massages, and shortwave therapy. All of this required me to travel and waste a lot of time. That’s when I came up with the idea of combining these treatments through gloves. The great advantage is that we can use them at home or at work, saving time and money, and without any time limits. Quality of life improves from day one: they reduce pain and allow hands to become more agile, with greater strength and dexterity.
